Frequently Asked Questions

Blink Drive App & Card

Here are the top Blink Drive App questions asked by EV (fleet) drivers like you.

Blink Drive App

What is the Blink Drive App and where can I download it?

The Blink Drive App allows EV drivers to find and access compatible charging stations, start and track charging sessions, manage RFID charge cards, and view session history and invoices - all in one place.

You can download it from the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

Search for “Blink Drive”, install the app, and log in to get started.

Can I use the Blink Drive App without creating an account?

Yes. Anyone can download the Blink Drive App and browse available public charging stations. However, to start a charging session, or order a Blink Drive Card, you’ll need to create an account and add a valid payment method. Without an active account and payment setup, charging access will be restricted.

Where can I charge, and can I use any charging station?

You can charge at any station displayed in the Blink Drive App. These stations are part of our trusted roaming partner network. Use the map and search bar in the app to find nearby or destination-based charging stations, with filters for speed, plug type, and operator.

You can charge with either your physical Blink Drive Card at all stations, or with your virtual token displayed in the app at stations that support remote start. Please note that not all charging stations support remote start. When charging with the app, use the “Remote start with app” filter to find stations that support this feature. Your virtual token is a direct copy of your physical token, so these token ID’s will be the same.

Charging is not supported at stations that do not appear in the app. If you come across a station that’s incorrectly listed, unavailable, or not accessible, tap the (⋯) icon on the station page and select "Report an Issue" to notify our team.

How do I know what I’ll pay at a charging station?

After selecting a station in the app, you'll see the price per connector - including any energy, time, parking or session-based fees set by the charge point operator. Before starting a session, simply check the price in the app so you know exactly what to expect. Some charging stations may apply additional time-based or idle fees set by the operator, and these will always be shown in the app before you plug in. Tap “Price Details” for a full breakdown of pricing. You will always be charged at the rate displayed in the app at the time you start your session.

How do I pay for my charging sessions?

During registration, you’ll be asked to add a payment method, such as a credit card. This is required to complete your account setup and enable charging. Completed sessions will be billed immediately after the session has concluded on a Pay‑As‑You‑Go (PAYG) basis. Please ensure your payment method is valid and has sufficient available funds to allow successful payment processing and to prevent your charge pass from being blocked.

Note: Effective 27 April 2026, we are changing how sessions are billed. Invoices will no longer be aggregated and billed monthly at the end of the period. Instead, each session will be settled immediately after it concludes (PAYG). You can learn more about this change here.

Why do I need to enter my payment details?

A valid payment method is required to start charging and request your physical Blink Drive RFID card.

Can I view my charging history and session costs?

Yes. You can access your full session history in the app, including start time, duration, location, and estimated cost. Please note: if a session appears as “in progress” or is missing, it may be due to delays in data reporting from the charging station operator. Final prices may also differ slightly from the initial estimates shown during charging.

How do I request a Blink Drive charge card and when will I receive it?

You can request a Blink Drive Card (RFID token) via the Blink Drive App for €3.95 incl VAT.

In the app, navigate to Menu → Charging Cards → Add card → Request a charging card

You will be prompted to add your address, so that your physical token/charge card can be mailed to you directly. Delivery typically takes up to 5 working days.

Before using the card, make sure to activate it in the app. Charging is not possible until the card has been activated.

How do I activate my charging card?

Blink Drive Cards must be activated before they can be used. Once you have received your physical Blink Drive card in the mail, open the app and navigate to:
Menu → Charging Cards → Add card → Activate charging card

Enter the alpha-numeric code found on the back of your physical Blink Drive card into the Activate charging card screen. You are now ready to charge with your physical Blink Drive Charge Card.

What should I do if my charging card is lost or stolen?

Immediately block your card through the Blink Drive app or portal. This can be done in the Charging Cards screen. You can request a new card through the same interface. In the meantime, you may still be able to charge using the app if the station supports remote start. If you are unable to access the app or portal, contact support to assist you in blocking your card.

Can I use my new Blink Drive card on my Home Charger?

Yes, once you activate your Blink Drive card in the app, you will need to contact us and share your physical charge card number to allow us to link it to your Home Charging account on your behalf. This ensures you can continue using your home charger with your new Blink Drive card. Once we have enabled this, please allow up to five working days from activation for this to take effect.

How does pricing work in Blink Drive?

Blink Drive offers transparent pricing designed to give drivers visibility, control, and fairness. The price shown in the app represents the full cost of charging through our network, including the charging station tariff and access to our platform. As always, we value you charging with Blink. That’s why charging with Blink Drive on Blink chargers will get you preferred rates compared to other operators.

Note: Effective 27 April 2026, fixed pricing and subscription plans will be discontinued to provide you with greater transparency and flexibility over your charging costs. Learn more here.

When and how will I be charged?

You will be charged after your charging session has ended (Pay‑As‑You‑Go). Once the session is complete and the invoice has been sent, the total amount will be automatically deducted from your registered payment method. Please ensure your payment method is valid and has sufficient available funds to allow successful payment processing and to prevent your charge pass from being blocked.

How will I receive my invoice, and can I view past invoices?

You’ll receive an invoice by email  after each session has concluded. A note that we have changed to after session billing as of 27 April 2026. You can read more here.

You can also view and download past invoices from the Blink Drive app under the Invoices section.

If you're part of a company fleet, any sessions you complete that are billed to the fleet account will be invoiced directly to your fleet manager.

I use a charge card issued by my company, how should I create my account?

If you are part of a company fleet, you must be invited to set up your Blink Drive account. This ensures that charging costs are billed to your company. Your fleet manager will normally do this. If you download the app and register using your personal email and payment method, your sessions will be billed to you personally. Always follow your organization's onboarding process to avoid personal charges and ensure proper billing to your employer.

What is the Blink Drive Portal?

The Blink Drive Portal is an online portal that helps you manage your charging experience, especially if you’re part of a company fleet or manage multiple drivers.

Depending on your role, you can use the portal to:

  • Track charging sessions and download invoices

  • Order and assign Blink Drive charge cards (RFID tokens)

  • Manage which charging networks your drivers can access

  • Add or remove drivers and update their details

  • Set pricing and billing preferences

  • Monitor usage and view performance insights

The portal is primarily used by fleet managers and administrators, but some EV drivers may also have access to manage their own account details.
